Vanlife
Mary joined David for the California coast section of his one-year adventure, starting from Bend, OR through beautiful destinations like Redwoods, Big Sur, and Walmart parking lots. We ended in the Azers' driveway in San Diego (thank you for letting us shower and sorry for the smell!)

Denali
At 20,310 ft. Denali stands about 9,000 feet taller than surrounding peaks in the area. This is due to a massive block of granite, or "intrusive pluton" which refused to crumble from tectonic force as surrounding rock did and instead pushed it past 14,500 ft. At such height, it is never warm enough for the freeze/thaw cycle that caused melting and erosion on other nearby peaks and it continued to rise into the sky. Not about Mary and David, but pretty interesting!

In June 2023, we signed the deed and became homeowners in Denver, Colorado

Surgery & Recovery
2024 was a year of doctor's appointments, treatments, and back surgery, with many short neighborhood walks as Mary got used to her new spine
July 2025
The proposal
In July 2025, David built a scavenger hunt app taking Mary around notable neighborhood spots, with 'structured questions' reticent of the questions they would ask to pass the time on long roadtrips together. After 5 miles, we ended up back in the neighborhood park that was our turnaround point during back surgery recovery days, where David popped the question. And you all know the answer :)
